New Game Plus is the game’s way of saying go back and do it differently. You clear the story once, and the option appears to start the whole campaign again — this time keeping the strength you earned, and free to chase the paths you skipped.
What you keep
NG+ is generous with progression. When you restart, these carry over:
- Character level — your overall progression stays put.
- Spent perk points — every point you invested in perks is retained.
- Equipment — the gear you collected comes with you.
In short, you re-enter Vale Sangora as the character you finished as, not a blank slate.
What resets
The campaign restarts from the beginning, which means:
- Story choices are yours to make again — the branches you took are not locked in.
- The ending you reached does not persist; you can aim for a different conclusion, or finally see the one you missed.
- Missed content becomes reachable again, because you are replaying the whole arc rather than jumping to a late chapter.
How to prep before you start
A little housekeeping in your first run makes NG+ smoother:
- Clean up missables first. If a trophy, a companion moment, or a side quest matters, do it before you roll over. Replaying is easy; re-finding a missed thread is not.
- Bank your gear. Since equipment carries, the stronger your kit at the moment you transition, the softer the early game of the next run becomes.
- Decide your ending goal. NG+ is the natural time to pursue a conclusion you didn’t take — plan which branch you want and steer toward it.
- Keep a build in mind. Your spent perks travel with you, so the next run is a chance to lean harder into the playstyle you already built.
