An unsent letter

Must have been written by the house's previous owner.

An unsent letter is a quest note in The Blood of Dawnwalker.

My dearest Galya,

I have bad news. Although I was able to scrounge enough money to buy that house near Carpenter’s Row, it has turned out to be a shoddy investment. I should’ve been wiser than that – the seller seemed awfully relieved when he gave me the keys.

It all started a few days ago, at night. I heard moaning and groaning, something moving just beneath my feet. First, I thought it to be rats having fun under the floors, but no – no rats make that kind of noise.

The house is haunted, there’s no denying it. And I’m sure the previous owner was perfectly aware of this. Bastard. I need a priest and a bloody good one at that. Luckily, since I came to Svartrau, I’ve participated in many services held by Father Florin himself! I approached him yesterday and at first he seemed annoyed at my plea. But when I mentioned where the house was, he changed his mind – perhaps he’d already heard rumours about this cursed place? He said that he would come by and perform the necessary rites to exorcise this evil force that lurks underneath the building.

As soon as he’s done, I’ll let you know and we will finally be able to live together in the city.

Stay safe my love,

Matey
