Blood Covenant: On the Sin of Pride is a scripture in The Blood of Dawnwalker.
We think ourselves too good to be bled. “We are not animals”, we say. “We were made in God’s image”, we protest. And by speaking thusly, we are guilty of a most grevious sin: pride.
That vrakhiri exist is a fact. That the world was created by the Lord is a fact. That the world is good is likewise a fact. It follows, then, that vrakhiri are good, and those who oppose them oppose the divine vision behind it all.
Fight back pride, for it will lead you astray. Whenever you feel it rise within you, remind yourself of vrakhiri’s might, and of your own insignificance. Think of the wonders knyaz Brencis can work, and compare them to your own limitations.
Do so, and you shall find calmness pervade your body and soul. For there is comfort in weakness, solace in flaws. There should be no burden on our shoulders, no fear of tomorrow on your mind. To lead is to suffer, to be led is bliss.
