The Draught of Mind Rebirth is the first respec in The Blood of Dawnwalker. It arrived with Update 1.1 (October 22, 2026). Before that, the launch build had no way to undo skill choices — the skill planner still assumes that, so if you are on 1.0, treat every point as permanent.
What it does
Drinking the Draught forgets all of your Swordmastery, Witchcraft, and Vampirism abilities and lets you spend the time you invested learning them on a different set of abilities. In practice it is a full reset of your three skill trees, so you can pivot from one build shape to another without starting a new save.
When to use it
- You over-committed to a tree. A thin Swordmastery anchor or a lopsided form tree (see Hybrid Build) is recoverable once you can reset.
- You want to try the other form. Leaning Vampirism vs Witchcraft is the biggest day/night split in the game; a respec lets you experience both.
- A late-game build needs a different spine. Since the sword works in both forms, re-anchoring Swordmastery after the fact is now possible.
Where to get it
The four Witchcraft Vendors sell the Draught of Mind Rebirth. Early reports pointed only to the Matriarch in Uriash Village, but other Witchcraft Vendors — including Vera — also stock it. Each charges more than 1,000 coppers, so it is not an early-game impulse buy.
Witchcraft Vendors are not all available from the start; the Matriarch in particular can only be traded with much later in the story. If you need a reset early, Anca can also supply a Draught. Whether every vendor keeps it permanently or it rotates like other randomly available wares is not confirmed — buy it when you see it.
How to use it
Drink the Draught and the game prompts you to “spend used time segments again”. That wording is easy to misread: you must re-spend every used time segment, not just the one or two skills you want to change. The reset does not take effect until all of them have been reallocated and you accept the changes.
So if you only want to swap one ability, change that one and put the remaining points back where they were, then confirm.
What changed for planning
On the launch build, skill-point budgeting was a one-shot decision weighed against the 30-day clock. With a respec in the game, you can commit to a focused early build and re-specialise later, which loosens that pressure considerably. The Update 1.1 notes cover the rest of the patch; the previous hotfix is in Hotfix 1.0.5.
