What was announced
In a September 21 interview with Eurogamer, game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz said Rebel Wolves is targeting early October for a larger update. The interview previews work in progress — it is not a released patch-note list.
- An easier setting below Story — a new lowest difficulty is intended to take the Story name, and the existing Story preset would be renamed. The replacement name had not been settled at the time of the interview.
- Targeting and camera — the team is revisiting automatic target switching after crowd-control abilities, and how quickly follow-up hits remove a stun.
- Escaping combat — running away should become smoother, including fewer interruptions from animals when passing them at speed.
- Performance work continues — reports are still being collected across PC configurations. The interview does not promise a particular frame-rate gain.
What it does not say
The announced setting is easier than the current Story preset. The interview does not establish a toggle that removes every fight or a way to skip boss battles — if that matters to you, wait for the actual patch notes.
Current presets are documented in Difficulty Presets: Four Options, and every release so far is listed in the master update log.
