Rise at Dawn is the rebellion’s opening move: take Eastridge Outpost so the manumit army has a way in. The journal files it under The coronation and records Svartrau City as its journal region — a roughly 15–25 band, though it is endgame content. The introduction states the plan in two sentences: “The plan is simple. First, we seize Eastridge Outpost and let Catalin’s troops in. Only then do we move on Greifberg.”

Where the quest sits

Marat is the quest’s hub — the journal both opens and closes on reporting to him, and two of the ten entries are waiting steps telling you to come back in a few days or by morning. The middle of the list is a vertical assault on the outpost: follow Marat into position, tie a rope, break the first wave, breach the second gate and climb the tower to open the outer gate for Catalin’s troops. It leads directly into the castle quests, Fall Before Dusk and Midnight Reckoning.

Journal objectives

The journal records these ten entries, in this order:

  1. Come back in a few days — “Marat needs some time to prepare before the manumits can move on Greifberg. I should check on him in a few days.”
  2. Come back by morning — “Catalin’s troops stand ready, and so do we. The rebellion rises at dawn.”
  3. Return to Marat once you’re ready to move — “Marat awaits my word. Once I’m ready, we move on Greifberg, and finish Brencis for good.”
  4. Follow Marat — “We need to get into position before we can strike at Eastridge Outpost.”
  5. Tie your rope — “We strike from above – don’t give them the chance to regroup and bunker up. Just need to get this rope sorted first.”
  6. Defeat the vanguard — “The first wave of defenders has spotted us. We must deal with them swiftly!”
  7. Breach the second gate — “The fight continues. Another gate must fall.”
  8. Open the outer gate — “This is it – we’re taking Eastridge down! I just need to climb the tower, and open the outer gate to let Catalin’s troops in.”
  9. Talk to the quartermaster — “I need to be as ready as possible before we strike at Greifberg. Best see the quartermaster.”
  10. Go to Marat once you’re ready for the final battle — “Catalin’s troops are here. Once I’m ready, I must report to Marat for our final strike on Greifberg.”

Before you go

The endgame assumes the manumit thread is complete and the vassal arcs are resolved; the vassal order guide explains why. Use the waiting steps deliberately — that is the window to see the quartermaster and finish any outstanding preparation, because the journal’s final entries run straight into Greifberg without a break. The Greifberg Castle guide and the Brencis boss guide are the companion reads.
